so i went away on a trip, and at the hotel, i open my macbook to hear a *SNAP* sound. Everything was fine, then the next day i noticed a crack at the bottom right side past the trackpad. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN???

But I don't understand why it happened, that's the question.they make the plastic chinsy from the first gen which i would have besides the thing that like the finish comming off
There is a known issue with cracking on some MacBook cases - it just seems like you have experienced one of the more spectacular instances
Get it back to Apple - they should sort it out for you.
I bought it last August, do you think they'll fix it?
Very recent computer, if you didn't do anything to cause it, they should fix it. That isn't a normal or expected thing to happen to a computer, certainly not your fault.
Get it taken care of and admire your beautiful MacBook again.
