I have been walking a lot since I am now working from home. My wife suggested that I get something to track my fitness. I ended up ordering a Starlight Series 7 GPS with the Abyss Blue solo loop band like in the link below. I wasn't sure about which band to get until I watched a YouTube video from iJustine and she seemed to favor the solo loop bands. I will trust her judgement on this one. Also, I really wanted the stainless steel or titanium case but I can't comprehend how this can justify a $200+ price jump. I can find lots of watches with stainless steel cases for under $100. If I need to make a fashion statement I guess I will just have to wear my Tissot Powermatic 80.

Good choice, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. I don’t have experience with the Solo Loop — I’ve only used the Sport Band, Sport Loop, and Milanese. I’m going with the same case color as yours as well.

Nice. I hope the solo loop fits your wrist, I've been hesitant in trying one of those recalling lots of folks having issues with the sizing when they first came out.

Aluminum works just the same as SS, but keep in mind that the cost difference is not just for the case material, the SS models have the sapphire display, and are cellular models (only). They are sharp looking, but for a product that gets upgraded every year, I wouldn't try to justify the added cost (and I say that as a current SS model user).

Wore the solo loop for the past year. Very comfortable. Maybe the most comfortable band I used so far and I feel size 9 was made specially for my wrist. Just be careful with it cracking. I have two small cracks in mine with less than a year’s use and there are posts on here of theirs completely severing.

Also if you charge with the puck on the table, you either have to flip the Watch and band inside out or lift the charging puck and snap it on the underside of the Watch. Then the Watch lays on its side.

Welcome to the watch forum.

A little tip, You can start walking workout by using Siri, tells her that you're gonna go for a walk. It's easy.
Apple Watch's also able to detect when you're walking so you don't even have to start the walking workout yourself. You just walk and minutes later it will tell you it detects you walking and ask if you'd like to record a workout. It will know when you stop walking for a period of time as well.
