My wife has a new I pad air. She likes to listen to Irish radio at night to go to sleep by. She say's that it seems to go to sleep & it stops streaming the channel weather the cover is open or closed and her Mac book doesn't do this.Help with this would be appreciated...

iPad I pad air stops streaming after a time

Is there by chance a setting within the radio app she's using that lets you make sure the iPad doesn't go to sleep? Some apps have this feature.
If not, the screen turning off should NOT cause a music or radio app to stop playing. I use AccuRadio and it plays as long as it can unless I tell it to stop.
