TAKE THAT SOCIETY!

j/k
well there are a bunch of whiners about painting the macbook so i went ahead and did it, mildly and tastefully, and note that my setup scheme is original so if you see it somewhere else you know they just copied me

so for starters i went out and purchased used parts of what i wanted..via Ebay

bought the lid for about $21 and the bezel for $11, just incase I don't like how it turned out i can always leave what is original on the macbook alone.

I took over 2 weeks to wait for paint and parts, also took my time painting the cover and bezel, took my time wet sanding every time, and even clear coated it on top.

I will post up pictures when i get home but i will be putting this on my macbook tomorrow and keeping the stock ones for when i decide to re-sell my macbook, it can be put back to original.

I have a Black Macbook 4, so i think that only painting the lid and bezel is worth the trouble, painting the body and keyboard top would be too much of a pain in the ass and they are the more expensive parts.

Here you are, yes it was kinda a pain to install but it was my first time ripping the macbook apart, a couple of tips i could give anyone to do this..

1) get all your supplies first before starting
2) always make sure you have more than enough paint!!! I ran out
3) Less is more, and more is less...you'll figure this out when you are painting and sanding

So i also cleaned out all my internals when doing this and my macbook runs super silent!

Anyone know the best way to post pics from flickr? i cant seem to get the url of the photo...they copyrighted my own photo

nvm, its under share..

I'm impressed. You shoulda made it all black though... ;)

It's be like a blackbook, but more regal and schmancy

not the LCD, but yeah bad idea.... now i have to re-polish the outside then re-wax it because windex actually scratched my clearcoat. As far as the symbol goes, its really really dim, but the outside edges glow around the apple

I think if i could do it over again, i wouldn't primer the symbol and just try to paint it
