i-photo not in my mac

on ebay bought a powerbook g4, 2004, 80gb hard drive, 1256k memory, 1.33hz osx 10.5.8...but no iphoto in applications...also have a dead g4 with the original cd's...version 10.3.1 . mac store said i cant get iphoto without ilife...and that my "new" g4 would eat up 80% of the hard drive if i load ilife. that i can only reboot it with 10.3.1...which with my cd's has iphoto...and then try insatlling 10.4.11...my old g4 starts up but then shuts down about 5 min later. can i just transfer iphoto from old g4 to new?
