I-Photo wont put pics on Ipad?

I bought my wife an ipad for her her B-bday. Ipad1 not 2. Anyways, I was going to put some family pictures on it for her but it isnt letting me put them on?? WTF? I can do it easily with my Ipod I have...Any ideas??
 
Go to the photo tab in itunes when you go to sync the ipad... Photos are there
