I generally don't buy "new versions" of iPhones until the "S" model comes out. As a result, I have been waiting for the iPhone 7s to come out this fall. However, given it will come out alongside a "new" iPhone, and that iPhone will likely be the "standard" iPhone in Fall 2018 (with a year of seasoning), I am questioning my strategy; I don't want to spend full price on a fully loaded 7S with the plan of updating it a year later (likely when it has low resale value).

I have an ageing iPhone 6S that I would like to replace over the next few months. Should I

1) Buy the iPhone 7s+ (unlocked) with plans to sell in a year?
2) Buy the current iPhone 7+ after the price goes down by $100 (assuming they actually still do that) with plans to sell in a year?
3) Just buy iPhone Pro when it is released

You make a few assumptions here. In any event, do what you think best.

I dont know what you mean by "aging 6s"...as we near to the 2 year mark in Sept for the 6s, it's held up well.
