iPod touch i pod touch 2g mic

My girlfriend just got a 2nd gen touch with the back to school special.
Will the headphones from an iphone give her the ability to record voice memo's?

searched but no results.

I don't believe the second gen supports the mic.

Unfortunately the second gen doesn't support that feature!

I don't know what everyone else has, but I have an iPod touch 2nd gen, and it has full use of the Voice Memos app with any mic, so far Bose headphones, Apple headphones, and the SwitchEasy Thumbtack.

Yep, disregard the posters who say it doesn't work. The iPhone headset (with our without the remote) works just fine w/ the 2nd gen touch, with full functionality.
