Questions for all -

Will you quit the iPhone due to (Apple & AT&T)'s recent behavior? E.g. blocking Google Voice app and host of others? A tech blogger M. Arrington from TechCrunch is quitting just because of that...

What's your opinion/position? Were you disappointed because you can't use Google Voice or any other apps that were blocked? Will you quit it as well?

Nope. Never used or had a need to use Google Voice, so it's no skin off my nose. If they start blocking something that I actually use on a daily basis (though I can't think of an example that would be something they'd feel a need to block right now), I might consider it.

No. And I'm no fanboy. 99 percent of the apps that exist have no appeal to me but I am glad they are available if/when I would like them. But ultimately - everything that came native on the iphone is good enough for my use (plus adding my own music/video/photos).

I do have 2 pages of apps which I love having - but I wouldn't quit over not having any particular one or even a bunch of them.

The bottom line is - the phone does what I need it to.

Why is ATT protecting their revenue streams any different than Apple protecting theirs?

The fact you started a thread in the iPhone forum of MacRumors means you have not quit the iPhone as your thread title describes.

i think the thread name is simply mirroring the name of the link, not his actions.

+1. I inititally put lots of apps on my iPhone, but have since deleted a bunch, and now have what I think are the best apps for what I normally need/use. If one was no longer able to be used, I'd find something else.

Good - maybe if a ton more of the Silly-con Valley peeps opt out, ATT's service will improve!

Really - I get tired of these folks thinking they should have service with data and any program they want for $10/mo - or even free. They are still going to need a phone carrier for GV and whose to say that another carrier will not lock it down at some point. Grass is always greener.

Yep, I want to stake everything I own and do on Google. Yep, they make the world better. Oh, yes....... ;)

No I wouldn't drop the iPhone on account of AT&T's behavior. I don't blame them for what they're doing actually.

I'm not going to leave the GREATEST PHONE IN THE WORLD just because google voice or one of those porn apps won't work. I have plenty of apps that do work, and even before the app store launched, I loved the iphone just because of the convenience of having a phone, iPod, and mobile web browser all on one device

You mean...there was an app that wasn't approved and I can't use it? Even though there are thousands of other apps and features of the iPhone that I can use!?

THIS IS MADNESS.

THIS. IS. APPLE! *:apple:*

I'm puzzled how not having something that was never there makes an iPhone less than it was to begin with.

Also puzzled why anyone else's opinion ought to matter in the slightest. Insecurity I guess.
