I just replaced my 2020 MBA almost two months ago and once I had things running, I ran the Song Sergeant app. (Saves me from a huge headache from trying to figure out why its (my Apple Music playlist) messed up. I was pleasantly surprised when I ran it the first night I had it, there was one or two songs that had 100 plays or more. I assumed it was a fluke because of the BETA program I am part of. (I am still part of it, the person who completed the sale did not encourage me to unenroll once I got home. (He was aware I was part of it, too.) I even looked up something about Apple tech support suggesting joining the BETA program and found out that they do, sometimes. I guess the situation with my old MBA was one of the occasions.))

My question, will failing MBs (airs or pros) and maybe iPads stop keeping track of play counts on Apple Music? It was just strange to see triple digit numbers on a few songs for the first time on my new MBA which probably should have been there months if not years ago. The only logical reason why I think there are a few songs with triple digits is because when my old MBA bit the dust, I used my iPod touch daily, but three of the four songs were nowhere near 100 plays.

Just wondering. Thank you.

The only orther "logical", I am being completely sarcastic, reason I can think of if the added triple-digit played songs was from the original album and a "deluxe version" of the same album. So when I use the app I mentioned earlier I go through my albums and rename the original album with "deluxe version" after it, run the app, then merge the songs.

This app has been a sanity-saver for me. When Apple Music first came out, I was calling Apple tech support every other month or so, so Song Seargent basically does what Apple tech support would have done, but I wouldn't be sitting with my MBA trying to get things organized all day long.

Yeah, I will sometimes have to download merged songs, but it's no big deal.
