I replaced a cracked screen on my iPhone 6 with one I bought on amazon. However, I kept my touch ID sensor from my original phone.

My Phone is still on 9.2. and I Want to upgrade to 9.2.1, but I'm dreading the error 53. I'm not sure whether it effects just the touchID sensor, or if it effects replaced screens as well.

Any idea?

Your phone supposedly only checks pairing with the home button/Touch ID to the original system. As long as there are no faults in between the Touch ID to the main board (i.e., damage to the flex cable connecting the Touch ID to the mobo, or the home button flex).

If the sensor can still detect your fingerprint, and option to scan your fingerprint has not been greyed out, you should be good to go.
