So I bought an iPhone 4 on eBay that is arriving tomorrow. I decided to sell my 3GS on craigslist. I got a buyer, and he was sure he was going to buy it, so I proceeded to go to my iPhone and went to reset settings and content or something.. Apparently it is a big NO NO to do that on a jailbroken phone.. Now it is stuck in recovery mode. Here is a rundown of some important information:

-It currently has 4.0.1 firmware with 1.59.00 baseband.
-I need to either restore the phone somehow and KEEP the firmware/baseband
-Or I can upgrade the firmware to 4.1 and KEEP just he baseband.

How would I go about doing this? If I do upgrade the baseband, when will the next unlock come out? Bottom line, I need to restore the phone and still be able to jailbreak/unlock it.

Thanks!

Have you tried Tinyumbrella? It will kick your phone out of recovery mode and also provides the way to keep your baseband while upgrading. Check here in the information threads and at www.iclarified.com for help.

Its a 3gs, not an iphone 4 so he cant use TU to keep the old BB...
If u have your shsh saved then u can restore to 4.0.1 and keep the curent BB, otherwise u have to wait for pwnagetool to be released....

Why is it a problem to restore all settings on a JB'ed phone? I've done that before without any trouble/
