guys, i just ripped a DVD (it was a concert of mine that someone recordered and gave it to me in DVD so NO ILLEGAL THINGS HERE) i wanted to upload one of the songs to my iweb, but in order for me to edit that file i need to convert it to MPEG or something...how can i do this??

DVDs are already MPEG. A tool such as bbDemux can split the VOB files into separate video and sound files, if that's what you need. This will, of course, depend on the tool you're using to edit the video.

You can always just use HandBrake. That can turn the VOB files into video files with no hassle. It's what I use and you can choose any encoding quality you want. For example, you can choose a maximum file size, so if you want to make sure the whole video isn't more than 200 mb, then you can do so...
