Thats a NFC chip with antenna!

This looks like an engraved antenna at the new unibody iphone design.
So what is the nfc antenna? The hole metal unibody case!

That`s just genius :)

If the whole metal back was the NFC antenna, that'd be awesome. It could also be that the Apple logo emblazoned on the back is actually plastic, as it is on the iPad and NFC could be transmitted through the plastic Apple. We'll know come next week, though. :)

It seems I could be right. I really didnt read this before. Im not the first one to write about this. I just had the two images in my mind. And I know little bit about NFC.

Apple has patents for NFC to work within metal, and inside of the LCD screen. Either patent might be implemented in the iPhone 5.
