I suddenly can't drag and drop from Spotlight results

I suddenly can't drag and drop from Spotlight search results!

I make a normal spotlight search for a file I want to attach to an email, for example. In the past, I just drag this file straight from the spotlight search results onto the email compose window and it attaches. Now, I can't drag the file out of the spotlight results window. I may have inadvertently changed as setting or something. Can anyone help me?

Just tried it and it works for me on Mavericks if the Mail app is on front. My dock is hidden and it does not allow me to drag from SL to dock to Mail. Maybe try restarting?

Thanks for checking. It turns out it was just the file I was trying to move. I tried with another file and it worked. Maybe it had been deleted or something.
