iPod I switched ipod!

I recently switched from a pc to a mac and I have all my non purchases on the mac but the purchases when I try to transfer them it doesn't work! I go to hit transfer purchases and it doesn't work! Anyone know why it might not be working?

The iPod's in PC mode.
Use an external or send them via email and then change to Mac format.
