What are the chances apple will put the Intel® Core™ i7-3930K Processor
(12M Cache, up to 3.80 GHz) in the new iMacs. It's not the extreme edition one but it is 6 core. Might we see this in the new iMacs? Why or why not?

It's a sandy bridge E CPU and they will be moving to ivy bridge. Regardless, I think the chances of a 6 core CPU in an iMac are slim, even when Ivy Bridge E CPUs are available. It would make me think about purchasing one though.

I would think this benchmark would be the top BTO offering: https://www.macrumors.com/2012/05/1...pro-and-imac-models-showing-up-in-benchmarks/

Also, that chip is only available in Sandy Bridge, and came out in Q4'11. Don't expect an Ivy Bridge version anytime soon.

0 chance. There are no 6 core Ivy bridge CPUs, even if there were the heat and watts would be too high.
