Ok, since the day I received my ipad 3 I use it more & more! It helps me at my job, I play games, watch movies, read books, am attempting to learn a little Spanish! Every day this device delights me more and more!

What about you? Anybody else here new to the ipad experience feel the same way?

Exactly! Thanks for posting -- yours is simply honest and refreshing compared to the usual complaints and cynicism I see on the boards. Have fun! :)

LOL, I don't do those things at work, but I am able to use the iPad to assist my clients on the job. The fun stuff happens after 5pm :D

There is nothing I like better than being engrossed by a new toy & I love my newest :apple: goodie. Now back to my casino apps :D

I'm in, all the way, delightful experience! My iPad 3 has been an amazing experience

I got hooked when a friend bought the iPad3 and gave me his old iPad1. Didn't take long for me to get hooked and so I sold the iPad1 and bought a refurb iPad2, not the 3 but it does what I need to do and now I am thinking of ditching my notebook computer.

I had the iPad 1, and must say since I got this third generation a few weeks ago it's rarely out of my hands when I'm home. I absolutely love this thing.

Yep! My new and first iPad (3rd gen) is fantastic and I use it everyday at home, at work and on the road. I spend much less time in front of the desk computer now because of it.

This is what shocked me when I got my iPad. I've had gadgets in the past and used them for a week or two before they ended up in the drawer (most notably things like the Nokia Maemo series of tablets, although I did use those occasionally for GPS).

But the iPad really does work! I use it every day. My laptop stays in my bag and I only really use it at work. I think what Walt Mossberg said upon the original ipad launch is 100% true: "It's about the software, stupid."

Everybody thought it was about the hardware. That matters, but no more than a Mac is about the hardware.

Apple managed to make the iPad fun to use even though it's actually annoying and irritating at times. I'm typing this on the onscreen keyboard for example and frequently have to correct mistyping. But I don't care!

I also have an android tablet, the original Samsung 10.1 inch Galaxy Tab, the hardware on that device is lovely, it's a slim, light device with a good screen. My problem with android is the inconsistency in the quality of apps. Rooting devices, installing custom roms is fun for people who know what they are doing & enjoy it. Trying to walk family & friends through such processes is a nightmare !

My son made a really apt comment, he said " Mom, you are a actually using your iPad instead of spending your time trying to get your android ready to use" in a nutshell I think that says a lot.

I don't "hate" android or Windows & will undoubtably own more of those devices in future but I have a big heart & Apple devices now have a steady place in my geekiest life. Stuff that "just works" out of the box is a hit!

I use mine everyday when I'm back from work, but it's difficult to understand for what  I always feel like I'm shuffling between should I go thru flipboard ? should I read a book ? should I watch a movie ? should I try this app ? should I play this game ?
Maybe I'll find some regular usage pattern in the future...

After awhile you will get into a groove. I tend to watch movies & PBS in the evenings. I read books & magazines while waiting for appointments & I search for new apps in the weekend when I have more time. Email & web use happens daily.

Aside from owning an iPad 2 and iPad 3 I also own the first gen Galaxy Tab 10.1 and have no need to root it. It's fine out of the box. As far as inconsistent apps they are on every platform iOS and Android. ;)

The beautiful thing is that Apple's always been about "just making it work" but that wasn't hugely important on a desktop PC. We didn't mind sitting there for half an hour getting everything to work the way we wanted, or spending half an hour every month doing maintenance.

An tablet computer is different, because we literally pick it up and start doing stuff. It's a much more immediate user experience. We literally haven't got time to mess about making it work properly.

And Apple was perfectly positioned to take this into account and produce an operating system and software that "just worked".

The sad thing is that nobody else in the world could have done this. Not Microsoft. Not Google. And manufacturers STILL don't understand how important it is. iPads are still sold in adverts saying what they can do, while Samsung tablets (and phones) are sold in adverts boasting the size of their screens, or the fact they come with a stylus… All hardware concerns!

It's about the software, stupid!

You are close, but it's not just the software that makes Apple's iPad or iPhone or iPod or Macbook Air/Pro, iMac, Apple TV, etc stand out from the competition, it's the user experience. That is, it includes everything we users experience from the time we pick up / work on / look at, the device to how the software runs. Apple controls it all - no other manufacturer has been able to do that.

Disagree. I have the Galaxy Tab 2 & there is a big difference between those apps & iOS apps. Mainly because there are not as many tablet specific apps.

I saw an iPad 3 for the first time on Thursday and I honestly couldn't tell the difference between that and the iPad 2, but I did only spend about five seconds with it.

Love my iPad 2 however, very few complaints :)

After two months of solid use I have to say the iPad 3 is an amazing device. I am very pleased with it & look forward to seeing what Apple comes up with for their next iPad.

Five seconds won't do it. Plus there are certain specific uses/images where the difference is much more obvious than others.

Completely agree. When the iPhone first came out, I thought "it can never get better than this." Then the iPad came out.....love the 3. Movies. Reading. Surfing. Games. Awesome.

I finally got the new iPad recently, and like the OP, I am hooked. Everything looks so much better. And all my photographs look 10 times better than they did anywhere.

And I must disagree with you sir..the difference in screen quality is..drastic..

Play with it for more than 5 seconds, compare images and text and both from multiple places. You'll see the difference. =)
