I was going to sell my Ipad Pro 12.9 to a neighbor today but had to restore it to 15.6. I forgot a BIG step. I forgot to remove my Beta Profile. It went through the whole process and now is stuck on the White Apple Screen. I do have Apple Care but the next available appt for my area is Tuesday. Just wondering if anyone had done this before... I have tried to do a soft reset, and plugging it into my computer but nothing happens. Any tips?

Try putting the iPad in recovery mode and restore.

If that doesn't work, then put it in DFU mode and restore. DFU mode can be a little tricky to get into, you need to do the timing with the buttons just right. It's sometimes helpful to watch a YouTube video to see what to do/expect.

DFU mode is probably the way to go, as it will also restore/downgrade the firmware as well. Recovery mode only restores the OS and would leave the upgraded firmware from the iOS 16 betas.

Thanks!!! My MBA is also on Beta.... I just tried the first one on my wifes and so far it is working....

It worked but it didn’t work. I am stuck with 16. Called Apple. They are aware some M1 devices can not go back to 15 or Monterey. Hhhmmm

Correct. She said since PB2 for IpadOS and "a few" M1 Computers have had to be sent in to go back to Monterey.
So be careful when venturing forth to Ventura via Monterey or there may be a delay in getting back, hey hey hey!

I am surprised they even provided help. As soon as I mentioned „beta“, they literally refused any help whatsoever (had an issue with a Mac beta recently) and told me I need to be on the last official version to receive support

Oh wow… had no clue that you couldn’t downgrade m1 devices.
You can downgrade every Apple Silicon Mac to the earliest OS release that supports that particular computer, but you will need Apple Configurator 2 and another Mac to do it.

Support can only help with beta problems if you are trying to go back to an earlier version, but can’t.

Otherwise Reddit or other places are where you can discuss beta bugs to see if anyone has found a workaround. Hopefully there’s a new beta version soon which fixes the problem.

Also, did you get a chance to report the issue via the Apple Feedback app so they know they need to fix this issue?

It’s likely you’re not the only person having this issue. Good luck! :)

I have an iPad Air Gen 3 (the last Air with the home button). Just got a M2 MackBook Air, and updated my iP13PM with the IPSW for iOS 16 b4. Worked like a charm. Then tried to update the iPad Air gen 3 and it failed and left me with the Apple logo. Tried it several times, re-downloaded the IPSW, etc. Same issue.
So, I dug out my 2014 PacBook Pro (intel, of course), and it allowed me to restore the iPad and apply the backup file.
Must be something in the software of the new M1/M2 for updating, that Apple needs to fix.....

Do the following and enter your iPad pro in to DFU mode.

Go to Ipsw.me and download the current 15.6 firmware file by selecting your current device. (IPSW.me is just a gateway, you will be downloading the official files from an apple server!)

When you connect the iPad that is in DFU mode to your Mac hold down the option key and then click restore, then select the file you downloaded this will force the iPad to restore to 15.6.
