I was trying to enable two video cards to be used by Xorg.
I found a howto for pci scanning and set the variable:
setenv pci-probe-mask= -2
Rebooting came with a chime then nothing.

Okay.
I've pressed the PMU to reset the logic board twice not in a row though.
The box boots up.
It chimes.
And..
that's it.
No response from the keyboard.
I removed then replaced the battery.
Same.

I'm assuming that if it is bricked, only the logic board is shot and nothing else.
if it isn't bricked and can be saved- no money for a tech here- how do i do it.

I also have a G3 with a 450MHz processor in it. Is it possible to switch the cpu over or would it be better to get a shelled out G4 and move what I can to it.

My apologies for not being more verbose in my post.
The keyboard and mouse are unresponsive. The video does not seem to work.
I've reset tthe PRAM multiple times, removed the battery, removed sticks of RAM.
Logic board will have a glowing red led on it.
If the wrong ramstick is removed, the machine responds with three beeps and three flashes.

Man, a serious and real thanks for the info.
I had some heavy work installing a BSD on this box.
I was fixing to drop a lot of dough on replacing.
