I think I broke my cheap Flash memory MP3...

After a Mac crash I changed my OS and suddenly my portable. MP3 player would not come up on the desk top when plugged in. I tried everything and finnally like a fool wiped the thing with "disc utilities". Now it comes up on the desk top but now I can only use it as a memory stick, when I transfer music and try to use it a an mp3, I get "Not Fat File system" on the player window... what did I do wrong and any ideas how to fix it

Use Disk Utility and re-format is as a FAT32 drive.

Thanks, but how do I do that.... on my disc U 'Wipe' I have OS Entendu, Standard, MS DOS and UNNIX.... no sign of FAT 32
