Weird thing happened today. I got both my SSD's in the mail today. the Patriot Pyro, both 120gb.
I slipped the first one into the g5 to do a Superduper clone with the OG hard drive still in the system. System recognized it no prob. I did a clone no problem. So I then took out the OG drive because the ssd was now bootable. So, I went ahead and inserted the 2nd ssd in the other bay, and turned on my computer. the 1st ssd booted up no problem and even recognized my external drive but not the 2nd SSd.
so i went ahead and put the OG drive back in as a boot drive, with the 2nd ssd as a 2nd drive and it recognized it no problem. so I did a Erase thinking that that would do it, but after putting the 1st ssd back in and booting it still didnt recognize it.
so now I'm Superduper cloning the 2nd ssd the same way i did the first to see if this does the trick.
It's weird that the system only recognizes the SSD when the OG drive is in. I dont understand this.
but I think im on to something here. I've seen this problem on Many forums with people telling others that "it's a bad drive, just send it back" or "it has to be sandforce, etc"
Any suggestions or testing experiments anyone wants me to do with this, I'm willing to play.
