That's pretty normal for a laptop display. I wouldn't worry about it unless you constantly use your machine from an angle like that.

i have the same screen and mine does that too on an angle, but head on it's fine. It's normal.

ok so is that only on led displays? because on my hp's screen it doesnt change color from an angle, its white all around lol thanks

Ditto. From head on mine looks great, but at an angle my 9C84 is yellowish. I don't consider this a big deal.

Its not a normal characteristic of led displays no

Actually I believe it is a characteristic of screen with LED backlighting. Every LED backlight display I've seen has a yellow shift when viewed at an extreme angle.

If it's not yellow straight on, then your display is fine.

Mine does the same.. as long as it's not that yellow when viewed straight on (or within a 90 degree range) it's fine. Every MBP I've seen has the same thing.

*ahrm*
...

A big middle finger from Apple's point of view.

I'm not sure what your point is. That Apple uses a pasted image that doesn't the color shift? Well, duh! Show one image from any computer manufacturer that's an actual picture of the display rather than a pasted image.

Here is a suggestion:

1. go to Sys Prefs > Displays > Color > Color LCD > Open Profile > Line 13
to see if you have a 9C84 (LG) or a 9C85 (Chi-Mei) display

2. go to this thread and try a few display profiles that match your display.

Cheers!

I have the exact same thing on a 9C84 (LG) panel and it is completely normal. The same effect was present on my previous generation MBP 15 with LED.
