Hello,
My father has a friend who has a titanum Powerbook. Its 400mhz has 128 mbs ram, a 10 gig hd, and a dvd drive. He is really computer illiterate. He wanted to format his drive and put os X.3 back on. He told me he tired to do it by booting in 9 and puting the Os X folder in the trash. So after he told me that I told him to just give it to me and I would format it and put os 9 and X.3 back on. So he gave the PB yesterday and he said he made a folder that said save it. It contained all his data he wanted saved. I have a External 20 gig 2.5 inch drive. its fire wire and Usb. It gets power from boh usb and Firwire it has a special little dongle that plugs into the usb port and it just gets the power. So I formated it and put 10.3 back on it and everything was great. The computer then started up and wanted me to put in personal settings. So I turned it ff and brought it over to him and he booted it up and and put all his personal settings in. So I got the external drive out and plugged in the usb dongle and the firewire cable. I then plugged in the usb first, you have to have the drive start up right, then the firwire cable. As soon as I plugged in the Firewire the external and the internal drive started making clicking noises. The backlight also stopped working. I then told him that I had to go and do some other things to it. The whole time I was thinking oh **** oh **** I ****ed his computer up! I'm going to have to pay for another one! crap crap crap! You know things like that. So I then took it home and turned it on, it still made that clicking noise and his back light still didn't work. I could see that the regular displayed still worked and it was flashing a question mark. So I stuck in a jaguar disk and it booted from it. I then went to disk utilitys and it didn't even recognize that it had a internal hard drive. Oh yeah the clicking noise stops after like 10 seconds. So I thought crap. I then also thought hey I still have his data! Thats the important part. So I took the external drive and plugged into my G3 500mhz imac(its flowerpower!) As soon as the firewire cable was plugged in the computer shut off. The external drive made its clicking noise for a few seconds and the I unplugged the little bastard. I also had this all typed up when I thought oh I should try the external drive on my imac. I lost this whole post and I had to type it again.
So I guess I will include pictures of the troubled computer and the external drive.

Oh yeah sorry for what ever spelling mistakes I made this is the second time I typed this.
