I don't think you are being hacked, unless someone hacked your Wi-Fi. What that is is a Windows machine on your network.

2 questions:
#1: Do you or anyone on your network have a Windows PC on?
#2: Is you network secured with a good WPA2 password?

This is almost certainly your printer. Mine shows up as a Windows machine with a funny name (till I set the name on the printer itself).

If you want to be sure, unplug your printer. It should disappear from your list in a few minutes.

1. no....def not
2. yes, however the password is from verizon, they gave it to me. Its like 15 digits long... no way anyone can even remember

----------

First, you not being hacked....

Is there another printer or Computer on your Home wifi?

only one printer, but that one always shows up... this other shared pc i have never seen and have no others in my house

hmmm... whats odd is the printer does show up with an name like HP............

why would it toggle back and forth between this weird name and the original

----------

could it be from a movie i downloaded from torrent the other day?

i hear they are cracking down

"Shared" in Finder includes resources you have access to. The "Sharing" pane in system prefs is just what you are sharing.

You're not being hacked. And it has nothing to do with the movie you downloaded...

appreciate :)

but why that weird PC name, i nothing but a wireless printer hooked up to it...

it's just a (semi) random name given as part of the sharing protocol for whatever device that is... most likely it is the printer.

If you don't want to see it there anymore, just mouse over the "shared" text and the option to "hide" the list will appear. Click that and it'll not be listed on your finder anymore.
