....the ipod touch could use airtunes, dont you think?

(or am i being stupid and it can?)

While not exactly slick, if you have Jaadu (itunes app) you can control your computer - and therefore your itunes library - from wherever you are. This would allow airtunes to work, therefore, with your computer through your ipod touch.

It's not sexy but it works.

Just download the "remote" from the app store. That will allow you to contol your itunes library from anywhere within your wifi network range.

or SimplifyMedia app and you can stream stuff from itunes to your ipod touch.

I mainky use it to listen to podcasts that itunes has downloaded but I have been unable to sync to the ipod because I'm away from home. However it would work for playing any music in your library
