Playing an online game right now and my fans are staying in the normal 2000 rpm range. usually they kick it up to 3000 or more at this point. I am using smc fan control to have the fans run.

What should I do?

I realize that since I am able to use SMC fan control my fans are not broken, but it is the heat sensor.

Maybe get rid of SMCfancontrol and see if the system will work normally as it should without that program (unless your fan was not working properly prior to the program being installed).

I have only used the program twice at this point. Once when I downloaded it to try SMC, the other is right now when my fans did not kick in as they normally do.
