Hi everyone,

I have a 20" iMac g5 with the 2 gHz Intel Core Duo. I do not have tons of experience working on computers so I need some help. I believe my hard drive is going out on me, everytime I get on my comp the hard drive begins this clicking sound and then i get a white screen with a blinking folder that has a ? on it. So if my hard drive is done, what one should I go with? I would like to upgrade to a faster and larger one. Any help is appreciated!

Sounds like your hard drive is dead because the question mark indicates that boot up volume cannot be found. Your iMac has 3.5" SATA interface so any 3.5" SATA hard drive will work but if I recall correctly, the maximum size is 500GB but I'm not sure of it. It already has 7200rpm drive so the new one won't be much faster.

I personally like Western Digital the most but Seagate and Hitachi are also popular here
