I think my iPhone 3GS battery is dying waaay too fast.
It's jailbroken on version 4.2.1.

I run no apps or anything and I let it sit idle.
For 2 hours idle, it loses 25% battery life and after 6 hours, it's declared dead.
If I use it, I can actually see the battery life go down every 1% every minute.

Is it gone for good?

Try restoring it to 4.3.3. I've found my 3Gs gets much better battery life on 4.3.3 than 4.2.1.

Just get the battery replaced.

Update to 4.3.3 if your not unlocked. With 4.3.3 it is easy to rejailbreak using jailbreakme.com. If your unlocked stay away from updating. If the update doesn't fix it try getting the battery replaced. The battery is the problem if it's hardware and not software.
