In fact, I'm quite sure of it. But before I go accusing the company and asking for a refund, could anyone offer some confirmation?

I've gone to About This Mac, System Report etc. etc. and the AC Charger information is as follows:

AC Charger Information:

Connected: Yes
ID: 0x0100
Wattage (W): 85
Revision: 0x0000
Family: 0x00ba
Serial Number: 0x00a0caf9
Charging: No

The very fact that it's actually a 45W charger (apparently) says to me it's definitely fake, but is this confirmation of that fact?

By the way, here is the listing:

The 45W charger is for a MacBook Air; looks like you bought the wrong one.

I looked at that Amazon listing and you are not the only one to think it's not genuine Apple. You can always return it.

Yup, I'm going to be a follower here. Fooled me for a sec, but then I took a look at the "L". Definitely not Apple-made.

The L? That's what the first gen air chargers looked like.

The original MBAs (through 2009) had the plastic barrel on the "L". In 2010 & 2011, the barrel was changed to metal. In 2012, the "L" was changed to a "T" along with the change to MagSafe 2.

I am not sure of the model numbers... but this looks to me like it the ones from a an early MBA (through 2009).

I've ordered a genuine one from Apple. It's taking forever to arrive but when it does, I'll compare the two. I still think this one is fake though.
