i don't get it...

It says 'iPhone' software for the 'iPod.'

The O.P. thinks this is a mistake.

I'm not sure if it is, or they're just going to call it the "iPhone Software" no matter what it runs on.

Dunno. If it changes tomorrow, it was a mistake. If it's still there, then 'iPhone Software' is going to be the official name, I guess.

Scroll down to where it says "Other New Features"

"So let me get this. Apple designs and OS full of errors and bugs, and if people want
an OS that fixes all of the flaws, they have to pay for it ???" That's like GM selling cars that don't go straight and telling customers for an extra $995 they will make it go straight!

No, no. Pre-iPod Touch owners need to pay $9.95 one-time to get dramatic enhancements to their software. 2.0 = $9.95 2.0.1 then FREE 2.0.2 then FREE 2.1 then FREE.

n00b. Its for pre-2.0 users.

No, it's always been called iPhone Software for iPod touch. It's not a misprint. Just a bit confusing.

Features require a charge.

Bug fixes do not.

When you pay $9.95...you're paying for the 2.0 - 2.1(+) series.

I doubt it's an error. I mean, it is THE iPhone's update, just on the iTouch... that's why you pay for it... it's an upgrade to a firmware for another product.

If you think about it, since it's the same thing, it can only be the iTouch firmware or the iPhone firmware... it just sounds better with it being the 'iPhone Software".

That's just the way I see it.
