I remember having the speaker buzz from early iphones, but never with the 3gs. And with the iphone 4, it's back...a random buzz when my iphone sits in close proximity of speakers. What causes this to happen?

Are you on EDGE and not 3G? The speaker buzz is a byproduct of being on EDGE.

It's sitting on my computer desk which is around 10 feet away from the wifi (full bars). If the wifi kicks off, it'll go to 3g. You say it should be edge only?

I just checked and EDGE definitely isn't on when this is happening. Wifi and a regular cell signal is all that's on.

It's not just edge. It's plain old GSM cellular interference. There's really no way to get rid of it, it's just a natural byproduct of electronics.

Just keep it away from your speakers.
