with the big trial between apple/qcom these last years, i was thinking they were not cooperating anymore, as apple was independent of qcom. So it's not the case (yet), but soon?
i guess it might be huge difficulty to replace qcom without doing some R/D for years...

Apple stopped using Qualcomm modems in 2018 and 2019 in favor of Intel due to the lawsuit. The lawsuit was settled in April 2019, the 2 parties entered into a six year agreement and they've been using Qualcomm modems since the 12 Series and have used them since.
