I thought iPhone 3.0 could control audio settings for BOSE station?

I remember a conference from 1st quarter by Apple that described the upcoming 3.0 release as being able to control 3rd party audio systems like BOSE's ipod / iphone portable system. Is this available?

The hardware companies have to include the capabilities first before it happens.

IIRC what it was is the iPhone can now control devices such as the BOSE but the company has to build a product that will talk to the iPhone OS.
