I thought .Mac could sync mail accounts?

I have the options all selected, but .Mac doesnt seem to be syncing my inboxes.. or any of my mailboxes for that matter, on either of my macs...

What exactly do I need to do to have the mailboxes sync up?

I think the accounts (i.e. settings, passwords etc.) are purely synced, and not the emails themselves.
The actual syncing of the inbox probably only happens if you connect to the mailserver, and start syncing with that.

.Mac doesn't sync accounts, however it will sync your .Mac folders and smart folders with your other macs. I'm not sure it works with other mail services (POP, etc). You must enable it in the .Mac system preference panel.

So then how can I keep the mailboxes the same from two computers using a Gmail POP account?

your .mac email should sync automatcially when you use mail on any computer.
