Apple are you serious? The notch is so BIG!
The rumor saying iPhone 14 would have no notch must be fake, Apple just likes big notch!

Doesn't bother me in the least, but some folks seem to be really hung up on it. I've never understood that. As MR posted about yesterday, it does "disappear" when you go full-screen with an app (because it puts an artificial bezel at the top).

What makes a complaint legitimate?
Well I don’t know where the line is, but the lack of 2.1 actually means that some functionality is not there, whereas people complaining about the notch are complaining about additional screen real estate that wasn’t there beforehand.

So wherever the line of legitimacy IS drawn, I’m pretty confident that the HDMI complaint is closer to it than the notch one.

So basically... your opinion. "Legitimacy" sounds more intellectually weighty than "opinion" so there's that. It's good to have opinions and great to express them. Assigning a value judgment to them is not helpful.

I respect that there are people who are bothered or irritated by the notch. Complaining about it but buying a Macbook Pro with one anyways is a bit odd and I'd like to hear more about the rationale behind that decision.

for what it’s worth by the way, I assigned a comparative value, not a comment on the actual legitimacy of either complaint. Happy to debate if you think that comparison was wrong.

Just goes to show you that with ARM or not, it still comes down to how much RAM it has in it, how much storage does it have, and how many devices can you connect to it. You know, like every other computer you have ever owned.

So all those who were saying the M1 was more than enough for them are finding out now that it really won't be in short order.

Not really. You can use the TB4 ports if you need 4k @ 120Hz. The HDMI 2.0 port will be perfectly fine for what I'm sure it's primarily intended for (connection to projectors or TVs where refresh rates over 60Hz are not a concern).

Thank-you to Apple for saving me $1000 every year since I stopped upgrading at iPhone 8 due to the fugly notchphone X etc.

Now I will save at least another $3000 as I don't upgrade to the new notchbook pro.

Apple, please put a notch quickly on the Air and iMacs before I decide to spend money on one.

Just a very ugly design
