Obviously, the 1 gen macbooks have the 2 finger swipe, so whats up with snow leopard and no multitouch on them? I could have sworn that I read a while back that somebody had indeed made it possible to use the trackpads on these machines as such, or am I wrong? ... any input?

You must have misunderstood the feature addition.

It only applies to MBP and MBA models that had multi-touch capable touch pads before. The MacBook's two-finger pad doesn't count as multi-touch.

First gen MacBooks don't have the hardware. None of the plastic Black or White MacBooks have the hardware. Other people have claimed that Linux drivers allow for multi touch but that's only on the class MBPs (non unibody).
