I tried Air Pods Pro 3 vs Sony’s WF-1000XM5

No where near the Sound Quality and ANC as the Sony WF-1000XM5.

Low effort post but I'll bite. It's all subjective and really hard to compare especially when Apple uses an adaptive EQ. As someone who enjoys audio there's far too many variables so it's better to compare generations of the same brand/model than between them.

Dunno, currently on an international flight, have been swapping out the APP3’s and my XM5’s while watching the same movies and listening to the same playlist. The APP3’s are -vastly- superior to the XM5’s. Better overall sound quality and the ANC is even better. Don’t have that “hollow” sound of wearing cans over your ears either, and the automatic ability to hear clearly from the FA’s who are serving us dinner is a nice bonus also.

If you cannot tell the difference, it’s likely because of a fit issue with the APP3’s. Hopefully, we will have some more options available soon when the foam tip market becomes flooded with replacement tips.

He is talking about the WF1000XM5s…. *not* the WH1000XM5s which are over the ear cans. The WF’s are earbuds just like the APP3 and they do sound amazing and a ton of passive noise cancel with memory foam earpieces ….

While I would say the Sony have better sound, the Air Pod Pro, all generation are definitely near. For my ears though, the Sony do not stay in when I exercise. Are the new ones at least sweat resistant?

I had the sony WH1000XM3s so not the same but my issue with them was if jogging it could hear my feet thudding on the ground in my inner ear and it drove me crazy. The software for the sony's was a joke with all the things I had to jack with to try and cut down on the wind noise. I really wanted bose and sony to step up but once I went to my airpod pro 2s I could never go back.
