I bought the iphone last April, just months before the new phone was unveiled. I had been trying to update to the new software for the last last year unsuccessfully on my personal computers. I finally went to the Apple store where they were able to update my phone. I went to I-tunes to sync my old info. Even with my account open, it shows my iphone as "unknown" and not with my name, like it did prior to the upgrade. Is there any way I can get my old info back? I synced prior to the upgrade and was told all I needed to do was to resync my phone. But if it isn't finding "my" phone, what do I do?

She can't restore from backup, since it's not finding her phone.

I would try a restore in DFU mode (see my sig). Then restore from backup.

Im not sure what she meant. They updated her iphone at the Apple store and she just went home with it without any of her stuff on it.
She said her iphone shows up on itunes as "unknown" and not with her name.
I think she just wants to restore her stuff back but not 100%
