I have a Mac, iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch.

so I figure I should just use the Passwords app. Thing is, I already use Chrome password manager. So like 90% of the time, the Chrome password prompt shows up. Other 10% Passwords pops up.

What’s the best way to cleanly make the switch? I would ideally have Password make a long, gibberish password for each password. To do that, I would have to go to each site I have a saved password and create a new password essentially? Any advice here on something like Disney+ where my TVs, consoles, and my wife’s devices use the same account? Don’t do long gibberish password for services like that?

I did see in 18.2 that there’s an option to set Passwords as the default password app. Or is that already there and it’s just showing defaults gets it’s own Settings panel?

any other helpful advice on getting set up and best practices would be welcome!

Export your passwords from Chrome and import them into Passwords on the Mac. You can then worry about changing them later if needed.

Some services don't even ask for the new password. Once you sign in, they store an authentication token...they don't keep re-authenticating you with your actual password. (You have to explicitly log them out, or log them out from your account settings on their site.) Also, most services show a QR code on the screen for you to log in on your phone instead of having to type out long gibberish passwords on the TV.
