I want to create a slideshow of both pictures and video clips.....

... with a musical soundtrack. From what I gather, iPhoto won't let me insert the videos to the slideshow. Can anyone give me any advice on how I might be able to get this done? Or point me towards a program that will allow me to do so?

Use iMovie. I've done several of these for church with various versions of iMovie. I think I've used iMovie '04, '05 & '06. You can add photos from iPhoto, import video clips & add music from iTunes. Then add transitions & titles.
