I want to install Mavericks as a new OS - Do I just move things from Time Capsule?

When Maverick's comes out, I plan to install it as a new OS. Mainly because my MBP came with Snow Leopard, and I've just 'upgraded' to Mountain Lion so far and there's a lot of things in downloads etc I don't really need.

When it installs, is it just a matter of putting my external hard drive that does the Time Machine backups in and dragging the items I want over? I'm also curious about how Dropbox would work - Can I move items from my backup Dropbox folder, so it doesn't have to download 2GB of files on my Dropbox account?

You can't drag anything over, you select categories, one of which is files and folders, so it's all or nothing in that regard.

If you want to start over, you're better off cloning your hard drive via superduper and dragging what you want over (including your dropbox folder.) then you can wipe it and start a new TM.
