I want to take my mac to(itunes Q)

factory settings but still keep my content i have purchased from the itunes store and have it playable. i remember steve talking about how your purchased material could be used on more than one computer as long as you were signed into the store would this work for me?

You want to reinstall the OS on your Mac but back up your purchased music? Why do you want to reinstall the OS? Usually this is more work than it's worth.

I'm trying to learn all things mac good and bad. And thank you soooo much for that link

No worries mate. Just make sure your Home folder is nicely backed up and you can't go too far wrong.
