i want to update my iphone to newer firmware, need some help

i have a iphone 3gs 3.1.3 and i want to update the firmware to the newest one out. my iphone is jailbroken with green poison and i want to know if i should restore it with itunes and then update. also wat program would be best to jailbreak the newest firmware. i think its 4.3.1 or something. thanks

im still a newbie lol

preserve baseband in case you ever want/need unlock.

update with custom firmware to 4.3.2

Jailbreak with redsn0w rc 14.
