Hello, ever since I had Yosemite and now el Capitan, Photos has been the automatic default photo app on my MacBook. I have iPhotos also in Launchpad, sitting there doing nothing.

I don't like Photos and want to use iPhotos instead, but I cannot work out how to get it to replace Photos. Every time I put my photo card in the slot it automatically opens Photos app.

Help would be appreciated, thank you

open image capture, select your card and click the box with a triangle this will expand a menu then select the app or click other and manually locate in applications
