I have a Windows XP laptop with no built in CD drive and a corrupted operating system. I tried making a bootable DVD with a iso file and installing it with an external DVD player, but the old laptop doesn't seem to work with the DVD player. When I try to boot and hold F8 only the original copy of Windows comes up as a boot option.

Next I want to try installing that .iso to a USB flash drive so I can boot directly from that. How can I make a bootable Windows XP flash drive from an iso image?

Google create bootable USB on mac. Basically you need to erase USB flash drive, format to windows (FAT), mount ISO, then burn to USB flash. To check, restart Mac, hold Option key when you hear the chime. If its bootable, you'll see it listed. Hope this helps.
