Hello friends,

I will buy used iMac 27 for Developing iOS Apps with Swift, I will often use xCode 7.0 and iOS Simulators, low resulation Photoshop files, I will not play a game, not use photoshop for large projects or video rendering. So I found 2 different iMac 27 in my country which is Turkey.

Which one is better for me ?

First one is iMac 27 Late 2012
CPU : i5 2.9
Memory : 8 GB 1333
GPU : 512 MB Nvidia
Price : 900$

Second one is iMac 27 Mid 2011
CPU : i7 3.4
Memory : 8GB 1333
GPU : 2 GB Ati Radeon 6970M
Price : 1200$

Thank you for all answers.

I looked the geekBench results there is no big differences on the benchmark. How can it be i5 2.9 vs i7 3.4 but no big differences ?

What is the performance percentage between two ?

For your usage it will make very little difference and is not worth worrying about. Hyper-threading on the i7 may be a boost in photoshop, and the 2gb Graphics card is a little nicer but I would go newer I think.

If you're simply developing and light photoshopping, then the 2012 one should be fine for your needs. The late 2012 model has the glass and the lcd fused, so less prone to dust creeping in and the display looks better.

I may be wrong, but I think that of the two iMacs above, only the 2012 will have USB3.

That's a BIG improvement over USB2.
Something to consider.

Thank you guys. I bought 2012 Late and I am pretty liked the slim case it has USB 3.0 anti-glare panel. It's perfect !
If someone want to learn about differences between two models there is the nice guide
