I know Apple is being very cautious with their modem roll out, only the Air will get the new C1X modem. But all reports indicate Apple's in house modem performs better when signal is poor, along with much better battery efficiency. I don't care about the C1 underperforming the Qualcomm modems when we're talking 300 mbps download vs like 275 mbps. I have poor service at my work, I'd much rather have better performance when we're like <20 mbps. I wish they'd just rip the band aid off and go all in for the Pros as well...

Also Apple’s comparisons to 16 Pro modem are misleading in a sense since Apple cheaped out for the 16 Pros: they again didn’t get Qualcomm’s newest top of the line modems. So you’re not comparing against QC’s best. Wonder if they cheaped out yet again for the 17 Pros.

I’ve seen claims it’s the same modem from 16 Pro — X71
