at Fry's and I find it funny that in our Mac software section we have norton internet security, does anyone ever buy this stuff, and if so... why?

Either a corporate requirement, or it makes the user feel better.

But for PC users switching over, it is what they are used to doing.

Remember people still like buying an extended warranty on a car with a long 7/75k or 10/100k powertrain warranty.

My guess would be for reassurance

I want my mac to be protected from viruses even if their are only a few

To protect PCs on your network. Macs can still be carriers for PC viruses even if they are not directly effected by them.
