but I don't know how

:(

I click on them, but my quicktime or itunes don't play the windows media files they have for the samples. Help.

That's odd, I have the latest Flip4Mac and the Amazon Windows Media links work fine for me. Do you have the most up to date version?

Yup, latest flip4mac

What happens when you click on the links? Does Quicktime give an error? Does Quicktime even open up?

I get a pop-up window with an embedded QT player, but when I click on play, it hangs at "loading" and never plays anything.

Ah ok, what browser are you using? I'm using Netscape, and when I click on the Amazon link, a small blank window pops up, then Quicktime opens (in it's own application window) and starts playing the song.

I tried it in Safari, a popup window opens up, then Quicktime launches and doesn't play anything. I'm thinking maybe it's a no go with Safari?

Use 'safari enhancer' and change how safari identifies itself to websites as 'internet explorer6 (windows)'.

Thanks! :) This worked for me, for what it's worth. Odd ... this isn't the sort of place where browser ID would usually make a difference. Also oddly, when the user ID is masked as MSIE6, I don't get a pop-up window at all. Rather, the clip loads over the main Amazon page (the whole page gets replace by a quicktime plugin, from which I can back-arrow back to the referring page). That's different from how it (fails to) work on Safari and how it (successfully) works on Netscape, from the above post.

Not sure I'm going to bother masking my user agent every time I go to Amazon.... But it worked. Amazon is good for buying stuff that's not in iTMS... especially with the plentiful availability of used CDs there. :)

I have Quicktime 7.0.4, Windows Media Player 9.0.0, and RealPlayer 10. I use Safari 1.3.2 and I have never had any problems listening to the samples.
